Case session

The Museum of Moscow recently concluded its landmark exhibition "Art in Scale: Monumental Paintings of Moscow." Monumental painting rarely takes centre stage, making this exhibition a particularly significant event. The showcase featured over 300 artworks from museum collections including mosaics, frescoes, and sgraffito originally created for Moscow’s building facades and public spaces, alongside photographs and archival footage documenting the evolution of Moscow’s monumental-decorative arts from 1918 through the 1980s. The exhibition presented works by masters including V. A. Favorsky, A. A. Deineka, E. E. Lansere, P. D. Korin, E. S. Zernova, E. A. Zharenova, E. M. Ablin, G. G. Derviz, A. V. Vasnetsov, Y. K. Korolev, as well as unique sketches by L. G. Polishchuk and S. I. Shcherbinina.

Exhibition curators will provide first-hand accounts of the preparation process, implementation, and parallel programming.
