Public interview
Cuba remains one of the most vibrant cultural stages in Latin America, where contemporary art thrives at the intersection of tradition and the search for new forms of expression. Leading institutions shaping the artistic discourse include the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Havana Biennial, where the voices of independent studios, curators, and young artists are growing increasingly prominent.
This session will explore how collaboration between state and private initiatives unfolds, how the art market is evolving, and what role international dialogue plays in supporting Cuban art. It is a conversation about continuity, resilience, and the creative energy of the island.
Interviewer: Natalia Vikhreva, Head and Curator of the Global South Art Department, Russian Gallery of Arts, Latin American art historian
