Public interview

The music cultural exchange between Russia and China flourished particularly during the Soviet era, yet today’s Chinese audiences typically recognize only a handful of Russian composers.
The Russian National Museum of Music and the World Museum of Music and Culture in Dalian are establishing a partnership, developing reciprocal exhibitions, and exploring innovative approaches to cultural exchange. What have these institutions achieved, and what challenges do classical music museums face in the contemporary world?

  • Collections, Exhibitions, Partnerships: How do operational models differ between private and state-run music museums?
  • “The Tchaikovsky Phenomenon”: How can museums effectively present national composers abroad to generate international interest in a country’s musical heritage?
  • Collaborative Potential: What opportunities does international cooperation create for music museums?
